Our research involves multiple interdisciplinary projects in the area of Computational Systems Biology. We use methods of nonlinear dynamics, biophysics, data science and bioinformatics to understand the behavior of biochemical networks and principles of multicellular self-organization. We closely collaborate with experimental researchers to verify our models and theories.

In particular, we are interested in:
  • Cellular decision-making, stress response and differentiation in bacteria
  • Mechanisms and dynamics of genetic regulation in mammalian cells
  • Biophysics of spatial organization, motility and signaling in bacterial biofilms
  • Trade-offs in biological information processing
